Welcome to the Audio Transcription Center, the most prestigious transcription service in the U.S.A. DAILY TRANSCRIPTION SIGN UP UPDATEWe will update this page accordingly when we’ve reopened the application portal. But that was very rare.J– Due to the continued high increase in submissions for 1099 contract transcription work we are not currently accepting applications until further notice. The only fun part was when I transcribed a reality show, where everyone actually spoke clearly and the audio was quality. Google was my friend, but Google let me down constantly. They would give me terrible audio of voicemails of a thick-accented, mumbly specialist talking about terms not used outside of their career. Try it if you want, but I was making pathetic weekly paychecks no more than $20 and that's without taxes since it's 1099. Then they whine that it's never good enough and to just simply "keep going back and add more" when you clearly did your best. (They e-mail and demand that you extra-extra-extra confirm you're working on it if they don't receive it within 2-3 hours of the. They really do hold you hostage, even though they give you 24 hours to complete your assignment. I'm pretty sure I was one of the people who posted a negative review on Daily Transcriptions. DAILY TRANSCRIPTION SIGN UP SOFTWARESo have any of you who've done Daily Transcription know about their pay habits for closed captioning? Do they force you to take work? What kind of software is really the most important? I would like to know a lot about them before applying. But DT seems like they might have a way to help me make some damn money where I'm paid for the quality of my work, even though my transcription stamina isn't very high like the people who are all like "yeah bro Rev is $10 an hour easy, so underpaid tho". Seven minutes getting you 4 dollars just feels like unworkable work. I can't bring myself to do much for Rev, even after improving my speed. There's a reason I haven't gotten fired from them yet. While I'm not a transcription brute like many of you, I can be counted on for other tricky things, like figuring out the abstract style of a particular client's style of putting spoken word into textual format. Not to mentioned the listening and typing seems like a bizarre anxiety trigger for me that actually gets worse when I have to stop typing and start syncing it.īut doing 30 minutes a day, and actually getting paid over 50 dollars for instead of 16-ish dollars, might work out great for me. Listening and typing for 30 video minutes worth of work, which takes me hours, I feel nearly totally spent. Going at 50% speed, I actually manage to not fall behind that much.Įven so, to me, even ten minutes is an exhausting chunk of work. Since I've never done regular transcription anyway after failing Rev's test for it, and I've got such good marks with Rev for their closed captioning, I figure this might be great for me.Īfter a few revelations I've found a way to type at a rate somewhere close to 3:1 for an average speaker.
